너희가 결코 죽지 아니하리라

죄의 파장은 인류의 역사 궤도를 재구성했고, 인류를 평화로부터 멀어지게 했습니다. 하나님은 창조물들이 그와 함께 조화롭게 번영할 수 있는 세계를 창조하셨습니다. 그러나 아담과 하와의 의도적인 불순종은 인류의 존재에 어두운 연쇄적 결과를 가져왔습니다. 아담과 하와가 그들의 창조주로부터 자신들을 감추고자 시도했던 것처럼, 죄에 얼룩진 인류도 종종 자신의 진정한 주인으로부터 멀어지려고 합니다.

뱀은 다른 어떤 피조물보다도 더 교활한 것으로 묘사되었으며, “너희가 결코 죽지 아니하리라”라고 하와를 속여 말했습니다. 이 유혹은 이 시대를 사는 우리에게도 많은 관련성을 갖고 다가옵니다. 기독교인들은 사탄의 전술에서 중요한 통찰력을 얻고 주님을 거역하여 유혹에 빠지지 않도록 주의해야 합니다. 여기 세 가지 중요한 교훈이 있습니다:

첫째, 유혹은 종종 진리의 왜곡으로 시작됩니다. 뱀은 하와에게 하나님의 명령을 어기는 것이 즉각적인 죽음으로 이어지지 않을 것이라고 암시했습니다. 이는 부분적으로는 정확했습니다. 그러나 죄가 세상에 들어옴으로써 영적 죽음이 초래되었습니다. 사탄의 가장 교묘한 속임수 중 하나는 하나님의 사랑을 왜곡하는 것입니다. 하나님은 사랑입니다(요일 4:8), 하지만 성경은 의가 하나님의 자녀와 마귀의 자녀를 구별한다고 강조합니다(요일 3:10). 하나님은 사랑이지만, 그의 의로움과 타협하지 않습니다. 사랑한다고 해서 죄를 감추거나 잘못된 것을 눈감아 주지 않습니다. 하나님의 거룩함도 타협되지 않습니다. 사탄의 작전 방식은 진실의 조각들을 제공하여 궁극적으로는 속임수로 이끄는 것입니다. 신중한 소비자들이 진짜 거래와 기만적인 제안을 구별해야 하듯이, 신자들은 하나님의 말씀을 배우고 따르며 하나님의 거룩함을 위해 헌신하고 섬겨야 합니다.

둘째, 사탄은 우리의 초점을 아버지의 뜻에서 세속적이고 죄 된 욕망으로 돌리려고 합니다. 하와는 금지된 열매의 매력에 굴복하여 그것의 겉보기에 좋은 맛과 보암직함에 매료되었습니다. 성경은 신자들이 유혹을 피하고 의와 믿음, 사랑을 추구하라고 권고합니다(딤후 2:22). 예수님 자신이 그의 제자들에게 하나님 나라와 그의 의를 먼저 구하라고 가르쳤습니다(마 6:33). 기독교인들은 돌아보거나 아래를 보지 말고 아버지의 뜻에 고정된 시선을 유지해야 하며, 그리스도의 성품을 본받고 성령의 인도를 받으며 부르심에 합당한 삶을 살아야 합니다.

마지막으로, 죄는 종종 동반자를 찾으며, 다른 사람들을 그 영향 아래 끌어들입니다. 하와의 범죄가 아담에게까지 이어졌습니다. 죄가 다른 사람들을 끌어안고 영향을 끼칠 수 있음을 보여줍니다. 죄의 확산은 개인적인 범죄로부터 시작되어, 천천히 주님에 대한 반항의 공동체로 누적됩니다. 다행히도, 하나님은 교회를 주셨습니다. 지역 교회들은 신자들이 하나님의 일을 열심히 하고, 더 거룩해지도록 돕습니다(에베소서 4:12). 기독교인들은 세상 걱정에 사로잡히지 말고, 거룩함으로 서로를 격려하고 주님의 제자들로서 주님을 신령과 진실로 예배해야 합니다. 기독교인의 삶은 그리스도의 지체 안에 삶이며, 교회는 그리스도를 빛과 소금의 모습으로 나타내야 합니다.

요약하면, 유혹의 속임수를 잘 알고 아버지의 뜻을 우선시하며 거룩한 공동체를 만드는 것은 타락한 세상의 유혹에서 벗어나는 데 있어서 필수적입니다. 믿음을 지키며 굳건히 서 있음으로써, 신자들은 유혹의 올가미를 물리치고 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 삶을 살아야 합니다. 믿는 자들은 그리스도 안에서 영적으로 성장하고 서로 도우면서, 죄로 가득한 세상을 헤쳐 나갈 수 있습니다. 그리스도의 몸 안에서의 공동체를 통해 의로움의 등불이 되어 하나님의 은혜를 전하며 축복이 되기를 기도합니다.

The reverberations of sin have reshaped the trajectory of human history, estranging humanity from the perpetual peace that God intended. In His divine design, God envisioned a world where His creation would thrive in harmonious communion with Him. However, the deliberate disobedience of Adam and Eve ushered in a cascade of repercussions that reverberated throughout human existence. Just as Adam and Eve sought to conceal themselves from their Creator’s presence, humanity, marred by sin, has often sought to distance itself from its true Master.

The serpent, described as more cunning than any other creature, craftily deceived Eve with the assertion, “You will not surely die.” This temptation holds striking relevance to contemporary times. Christians must glean crucial insights from Satan’s tactics and remain vigilant against succumbing to temptation, thereby disobeying the Lord. Here are three pivotal lessons:

Firstly, temptation often begins with a distortion of truth. The serpent insinuated to Eve that disobeying God’s command would not lead to immediate death, albeit with partial accuracy. However, the subsequent introduction of sin into the world resulted in spiritual death. One of Satan’s most insidious deceptions is the distortion of God’s love. While indeed God is love (1 John 4:8), Scripture emphasizes that righteousness distinguishes the children of God from those of the devil (1 John 3:10). The love of God never compromises His righteousness; sin cannot be cloaked under the guise of love, nor can God’s holiness be compromised. Satan’s modus operandi often involves offering morsels of truth that ultimately lead to deception—a tactic akin to a bait-and-switch scheme. Just as astute consumers must discern between genuine deals and deceptive offers, believers must remain steadfast in their commitment to God’s holiness through immersion in His Word.

Secondly, Satan endeavors to divert our focus from the will of the Father to worldly and sinful desires. Eve succumbed to the allure of the forbidden fruit, captivated by its apparent pleasantness and desirability. Scripture admonishes believers to flee from temptation and pursue righteousness, faith, and love (2 Timothy 2:22). Jesus Himself instructs His followers to prioritize seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Christians are called not to glance back or downward but to fix their gaze steadfastly on the will of the Father, endeavoring to emulate the character of Christ and walk in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Lastly, sin often seeks companionship, drawing others into its grip. Eve’s transgression extended to Adam, illustrating how sin can ensnare and influence others. The proliferation of sin begins with individual transgressions, gradually accumulating into a community of rebellion against the Lord. Thankfully, God has provided the Church—a sacred assembly for believers to be equipped for ministry and edified in holiness (Ephesians 4:12). Instead of being preoccupied with worldly concerns, Christians are called to uplift and encourage one another in the pursuit of holiness, recognizing that the Christian life finds its fullest expression within the context of the local body of Christ.

In summary, understanding the deceptive nature of temptation, prioritizing the will of the Father, and fostering a community centered on holiness are indispensable for navigating the treacherous currents of a fallen world. By remaining vigilant and steadfast in faith, believers can resist the snares of temptation and fulfill their calling to live lives pleasing to God. Through continuous growth in spiritual understanding and communal support within the body of Christ, believers can navigate the complexities of a world ensnared by sin, emerging as beacons of righteousness and agents of divine grace.
