복음의 빛

1. 어느 날 나는 복음을 전할 방법을 생각하던 중 하나님은 나의 마음에 “복음의 빛”(Gospel Light)이라는 문구를 떠오르게 하셨다. 성경은 예수님을 “생명의 빛”이라고 하였다. 예수님은 복음으로 우리에게 빛을 비추어 주신다. 복음은 마치 플래시 라이트와 같다고 할 수 있다. 플래시 라이트에 스위치를 켜면 빛이 환하게 비췬다. 그러면 어두움이 사라지고 사물이 밝히 드러난다. 그렇듯이 예수님은 태양과 같은 강력한 복음의 플래시 라이트를 우리에게 비추신다.

2. 마가복음 1:1절에 기록되기를 “하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도의 복음의 시작이라”라고 했다. 예수님은 이 땅에 복음을 가지고 오셔서 시작하신 분이다. 그리고 예수님은 우리에게 복음의 빛을 통해 세 가지를 주고자 하신다. 첫째, 예수님은 복음을 통해 하나님의 큰 사랑이 어떠함을 사람들이 알게 되기를 원하신다. 복음은 하나님의 크신 사랑을 완벽하게 계시하시는 그의 방법이다. 그래서 사람들은 복음을 들어야 하나님의 사랑 앞에서 압도당하게 되는 것이다. 둘째, 예수님은 복음을 통해 우리의 추함과 악함과 소망 없음을 보게 되기를 원하신다. 그래서 복음을 바로 듣게 되면 사람들은 자신의 죄 때문에 크게 놀라고 애통하며 자복하게 된다. 셋째, 예수님은 복음을 통해 구원을 우리에게 주고자 하신다. 복음을 듣고 받으면 사람들은 하나님의 은혜 속으로 깊이 들어가고 구원을 얻으며 참 소망을 가지게 된다.

3. 그래서 예수님은 “때가 찼고 하나님의 나라가 가까웠으니 회개하고 복음을 믿으라”고 하셨다(막 1:15). 회개하고 복음을 믿으면 우리는 죄에서 구원을 얻게 되고 하나님의 나라가 우리의 심령에 임하게 된다는 의미다. 그래서 바울은 “구원의 복음”이라고 말하였다(엡 1:13). 오직 예수님의 복음을 통해서 사람들에게 하나님의 나라가 임하게 된다. 하나님의 나라가 우리에게 임하면 우리는 복음의 빛을 가지고 세상을 비추는 빛의 사자들이 되어 살아갈 수 있다.

4. 하나님은 나에게 글을 통해, 유튜브를 통해, 전도를 통해 복음 사역을 펼쳐나가야 한다는 마음을 주셨다. 그래서 나는 모든 노력을 다해 더 많은 사람과 더 넓은 지역에 복음이 전파되기를 위해 힘쓸 것이다. 찬송가 502장에서 “빛의 사자들이여 어서 가서 복음의 빛 비춰라”라고 했듯이 복음의 빛을 비추어 어둠을 물리치고 영혼들이 치유되어 주께 돌아와 영생을 얻기를 간절히 소원한다.

1. One day, while I was pondering ways to share the gospel, God brought the phrase “Gospel Light” to my mind. The Bible refers to Jesus as the “Light of Life.” Jesus shines His light upon us through the gospel. In a way, the gospel is like a flashlight. When you turn on a flashlight, it shines brightly; the darkness vanishes, and everything is clearly revealed. In the same way, Jesus shines the flashlight of the gospel upon us—a light as powerful as the sun.

2. Mark 1:1 records, “The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus is the one who came to this earth with the gospel and initiated it. Through the light of the gospel, Jesus desires to give us three things. First, Jesus wants people to know the greatness of God’s love through the gospel. The gospel is God’s perfect way of revealing His immense love. Therefore, when people hear the gospel, they are overwhelmed by His love. Second, Jesus wants us to see our own ugliness, wickedness, and hopelessness through the gospel. When people truly hear the gospel, they are deeply shaken, mourn, and confess their sins. Third, Jesus desires to grant us salvation through the gospel. When people hear and accept the gospel, they immerse themselves deeply into God’s grace, receive salvation, and find true hope.

3. That is why Jesus said, “The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15). This means that if we repent and believe the gospel, we are saved from sin and the Kingdom of God comes into our hearts. Thus, Paul referred to it as “the gospel of your salvation” (Ephesians 1:13). It is solely through the gospel of Jesus that the Kingdom of God comes to people. When His kingdom comes upon us, we can live as messengers of light, carrying the light of the gospel to illuminate the world.

4. God has placed a desire in my heart to expand this gospel ministry through writing, YouTube, and evangelism. Therefore, I will make every effort to ensure that the gospel is proclaimed to more people and across wider regions. Just as Hymn 502 sings, “Messengers of light, go quickly and shine the light of the gospel,” I earnestly pray that by shining this light, darkness will be driven away, souls will be healed, and they will return to the Lord to receive eternal life.
